About Me

My photo
I dream of wandering wild, walking along the woods plucking fruits, laze around sublime landscapes. I feel alive when I'm out there basking in the sun, watching new horizons. I'm in search of little joys that keep me revived. I wish to belong in places where I can quench my thirst drinking from brooks, spend the day chasing butterflies, sipping honey, stopping by to coo with the birds. I am in love with cloud-kissed mountains and flowery meadows. Freedom is what I crave for! Set me free so that I’ll come back to you… I'm a dreamer. I believe that my dreams will take me to new places. This blog tells about my journeys and people who had been a part of them..

NewYork Highline

New York Highline is a 1-mile long linear elevated walkway built on a former railroad named the West side line. Many people who live in the city doesn't know about this area and its importance. I happened to visit their website while looking for places to visit in NYC.

Its extremely beautiful to see this middle of the city walkway maintained with a wide variety of plants and trees. There is a non-profit organisation named Friends of the Highline which helps to maintain this throughout the year. They invite volunteers who like to help them in cleaning and gardening activities. If you wish to have a morning walk breathing some fresh air and being close to nature, this is the right place. Here I'm sharing some pictures I captured...

Little birds like sparrows are frequent visitors in this park. There are a few shops inside the park which sells souvenirs and snacks for the visitors. The Highline is open daily from 7am to 10pm and has nine entrances.

The night viewof the park is also worth watching as it looks fabulous in night lights. There are many activities conducted in the park, for example Star gazing through a telescope is arranged on all Tuesday evening (at dusk) free of cost. For more information on activities visit http://www.thehighline.org/

I recommend this place to all visitors and residents of Newyork city.  Help to preserve nature in all such small ways..Enjoy your walk!
